Training starts......kind of......

I'm not the best at updating this blog or doing the training. Lisa is up to 5 miles at the moment......I'm currently upto 15 minutes before I believe I can but my body says it can't....not today anyway !

The last 10 days have been tough for training.I have to balance family life with my wife, Lisa, and beautiful 2 year old, Isabelle and doing my bit to run a business with a 100 colleagues. Coupled with this the challenge of early breakfast meetings and late nights aswell as fitting in Marathon training.

I beleive I can still party with the best of them but then take 2 days to recover........needless to say the training has suffered along with my waistline and liver.

This morning I was up at 6am....-4 degrees and couldn't find my thermals. Should I ? why not I'm up and I need to train I tell myself.....I braved the cold in my shorts and 3 t-shirts....layers are the way when it is this cold..... I decided not to run too far from home.

I run around Abington Park, half the time against a strong, colder than cold head wind and managed my quickest time of 14 minutes....the cold played a big part in my motivation for a quick run,to get home and get a hot shower.

Onto Kettering for a networking meeting at 8 o'clock.....buzzing from the short run and, without asking, was given my first sponsorship from Andy 'x' Partner at Moore Stephens, Northampton...a local and 12th largest national Accountancy firm...thanks chap, appreciated !

Full day back at the office.....we hit our daily target and at 6.30pm I'm off home for fun and play with Isabelle.....

Reflecting on the days training I realise the scale of the challenge ahead.....I'm currently out of breath after 15 minutes and yet will need to train my brain and body to run for 4 to 5 hours !
